Description

This is true traditional black soap from Africa.

Black soap is made of ashes from burnt cocoa pods and plantain peels. The ashes are then soaked with water and filtered into a pot and boiled. It is finally mixed with either palm oil or palm kennel oil. The mixture is left to boil until the water evaporates and leaving a thick mixture which is then shaped into various sizes of cake soap and left to solidify.

I tried this just for fun and to experience a traditional African soap. Very interesting soap. I personally make cold process soap and prefer it to the African black soap, but if you want to try a real soap without having to make it yourself, give this one a shot. If you are used to cold process soap, this one is much softer so don't expect a had soap bar, but it had good lather and didn't dry my skin.
