State: Powder
Color: Light green with soft gray
Synonyms: Sea Clay
Uses: French Clay – Green is used in scrubs, soaps, facial powders and facial masks. It is used for skin treatments as it is superb at absorbing from the skin dust, oil, contaminants, makeup and other impurities. It also causes dead cells to slough off and stimulates the flow of blood to the epidermis. It is excellent for mineral baths and it is believed by some practitioners that the plant matter in French Clay Green is antiseptic and an anti-inflammatory. The elements that French Clay Green contains include 9 important mineral oxides, calcium, dolomite, silica, selenium, magnesium, phosphorous, copper, silicon and montmorillonite. The 2 important factors which differentiate a poor quality clay from a good quality clay are decomposed plant matter, usually kelp seaweed and other types of algae, and iron oxides. This is why it is important when purchasing French Clay Green to seek out clay that is true or bright green and at the least off green. This clay can never be just white or gray in color.
French Clay Green is also used in poultices to treat sore muscles, sprains, arthritis, pastes for minor cuts, insect bites, minor burns and stings.

Natural: French Clay Green is quarry mined from deposits that can span several thousand feet or as little as 100 feet. The quality of the clay depends on the health of land it was quarried on. The clay, once quarried, is sundried so as to remove the excess moisture and water and make it easier to handle. It is then heavily ground up with hydraulic crushers and then finely pulverized with fine mesh equipment. After this, it is again laid out to be sundried again in order to remove any final traces of moisture.
