Plant Description: This tree is a member of the orange family. Mandarin trees are smaller overall than orange trees with small fruits and leaves.

Aromatic Fragrance: Light. It has a sweet, fresh scent that is also intense and is characteristic of citrus fruit.

Common Applications: Mandarin essential oil can be used for hiccups, as a digestive aid, anxiety, assisting the liver functions of the elderly and can be used to alleviate indigestion.

History: Historically mandarins were given as a traditional gift to the mandarins of China which gave rise to its name. Mandarins are native to the Far East and southern China. They were brought to Europe in 1805 and to the USA in 1845.

Storage Directions: Mandarin Essential Oil should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.

Blends Well With: It will blend well with other citrus oils such as lemon, grapefruit, lime, and orange. It also blends well with spice oils such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and bay.

Cautions: Due to some evidence it is believed that Mandarin essential oil is phototoxic. Avoid direct sunlight after applying the oil. For external use only.
