Jamaica’s climate and the unique soil of the parishes of St. Mary, St. Ann, Hanover, Westmoreland, Manchester and Clarendon produce the world’s best pimento or allspice trees. Through steam distillation, the leaves of the trees are used to produce the highest grade pimento essential oil in the world. Proof of the high quality oil is reflected in its reddish color. At first, the color is an extremely light pale green which eventually turns into reddish brown, thus the name Red Pimento Oil.
