Sodium Sulfate is an inorganic salt. In cosmetics and personal care products, Sodium Sulfate is used in the formulation of cleansers, bath soaps and detergents, and skin care preparations.

Why is it used in cosmetics and personal care products? Sodium Sulfate increases the thickness of the aqueous (water) portion of the finished product.

Scientific facts: Sodium Sulfate occurs naturally as the minerals mirabilite and thenardite

The principal use of sodium sulfate is in processing wood pulp for making kraft paper. It is also used in glass manufacture, textile dyeing, and synthetic detergents.
