Section III - Hazardous Identification:
Emergency Overview:No unusual fire or spill hazard. Low health risk by inhalation. White colorless powder
Potential health effects:Eyes - May Cause mechanical irritation
Skin - none
Inhalation - Low health risk by inhalation. Treat as a nuisance dust
Oral LD50 Greater than 7,500 mg/kg (Rats)
Effects of Overexposure Acute - Exposure may irritate the throat and air passage, sometimes causing cough and phlegm
Chronic - Repeated heavy exposures may cause bronchitis, with cough and phlegm.
Chronic - If exposure continues, emphysema may develop. Lung scarring may also result.
Carcinogenicity Titanium Dioxide has been characterized by iARC as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B) through inhalation (not ingestion). This classification is based upon animal inhalation studies. Epidemiology studies do not suggest an increased risk of cancer in humans from occupational exposure to titanium dioxide.
Section IV - First Aid :
Eye Contact:Flush eye with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a physician if irritation persists.
Skin Contact:Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Consult a physician if irritation persists.
Inhalation:Go to an area with fresh air. if breathing is labored or stopped, give artificial respiration. Get immediate medical attention.
Ingestion:If swallowed, dilute with large amounts of water, do not induce vomiting, consult a physician immediately.

Flash Point:N/A
Flammable Limits:N/A
Auto-Ignition temperature:N/A
Hazardous Combustion Products:N/A
Extinguishing Media:Use Extinguishing agent applicable to surrounding fire
Fire Fighting Instructions:Fire fighters should wear NIOSH approved, positive pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing when appropriate. Toxic fumes may be produced in fire.
Section VI - Accidental Release Measures
Small / Large SpillClean up using dry procedures, avoid dusting
Personal Protective EquipmentWear a MSHA/NIOSH approved (or equivalent) Air purifying respirator equipped with filters for protection against dusts and mists. Wear cotton or canvas cloves. Wear safety glasses (ANSI z87.1 or approved equivalent)
Section VII - Handling and Storage
HandlingGood industrial hygiene practice requires that employee exposure be maintained below TLV. This is preferably achieved through the provision of adequate ventilation where necessary. Where dust cannot be controlled in this way, personal respiratory protection should be employed.
StorageStore in a clean, dry area at ambient temperature in original unopened containers. Conditions of high humidity may require storage in a controlled environment.
Section IIX - Exposure Control & Personal Protection
Engineering Controls: Use with adequate ventilation to meet exposure limits listed in section II
Respiratory Protection: NIOSH approved air-purifying respirator equipped with an appropriate 100 series filter for protection against dusts and mists, as appropriate for the exposure levels and conditions of use.
Skin Protection:Cotton or Canvas Gloves

Particle Size ConsiderationsFine Particles are respirable particles with a primary particle diameter of at least 100 nm. Ultrafine particles are respirable particles with a primary particle diameter less then 100 nm. This product is not manufactured to contain ultrafine particles as defined above, and the level of any incidental ultrafine particles is not measurable at this time. If, however the user reduces the particle size of this product (through milling or some other process) so that a significant portion is in the ultrafine range, the significance of the reduced particle size should be taken into consideration.
