Plant Description: The Virginia Cedarwood is a slow-growing, coniferous evergreen, reaching heights of 33 metres or so, the diameter of the trunks can reach over 1.5 metre. It has a reddish heartwood and bears brown cones. Also known as Red cedar, it is from the family Cupressacea. Although this tree is from this family and not from the family Pinacea, it is still called Virginia Cedar.
Color: Pale yellow to brownish liquid.

Aromatic Fragrance: Cedarwood Virginian scent is sweet and woody, sometimes reminiscent of sandalwood.
Aromatic Strength: Strong
Common Applications: Cedarwood Virginian Oil is reputed to calm nervous tension and states of anxiety. It is an expectorant and useful in treating hemorrhoids, deterring moths and other insects, and will act as a mild astringent. It is a very powerful antiseptic, fungicidal and anti-seborrhea (helps with dandruff, hair loss and oily hair). Consumers will also see it in men's toiletries, in products used to combat acne, and in products designed to relieve muscle and joint pain. Cederwood Virginian Oil contains 20% Cedrol which may cause the oil to crystallize over time. The melting point of Cedrol is 86 degrees Celsius. By gently heating the oil, the Cedrol liquefies and its solubility is improved for a period of time. It may re-crystallize again in cooler temperatures.

Storage Directions: Essential Oils should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.
Blends Well With: Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Cassia, Jasmine, Juniper, Neroli, Labdanum, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang.
Cautions: Non-toxic but may irritate sensitive skin.. Avoid during pregnancy
