It's been said that this is not the 'traditional' lavender, but I highly disagree. I keep lavender plants and real essential oils around the home and it smells exactly like those. It won't smell like the common synthetic oil one can find for cheap at the grocery or department store. It smells like actual lavender blooms have made contact with whatever you use it with. I love putting several drops in wool dryer balls, then drying towels, pajamas, and bedding. It's a very calming scent.
If you are looking for a traditional lavender this is not it. That said... I love it. It is a little more menthol/camphor that your standard lavender, but it it mellow quickly to a citrus-y lavender. It would not be something I used in my "lavender" products, but I look forward to playing and blending it with other E.O's to make perfume. It is fantastic.
I love the healing properties of this essential oil. I used it in a sunburn cream over the summer and was very very happy with it. I've also used it undiluted for minor cooking burns and gotten excellent relief. This is part of my medicine cabinet. In hot process soap making, the scent fades and it's not cost effective. I'd suggest the Spanish Lavender for that.
I have tried so many lavenders over the years & this one is by far my favorite. It is extremely high quality in both it's fragrance & medicinal value. I would be very interested to see the GC analysis of this product, if it is available!
