French Clay - Red

Description

Description: French red clay comes from Hematite Iron, its coloring the result of the copper oxides contained in this rock. Rich in kaolinite, illite, montmorillonitea and calcite, French red clay is best suited for normal to oily skin types.

Appearance: Fine red colored powder.

Benefits: French Red Clay cleanses, detoxifies and exfoliates the skin, leaving it refreshed, toned and rejuvenated. It is most widely used in cosmetic manufacturing.

Application: French red clay can be used in detoxifying body wraps, soap making, face masks, mineral based or cream based cleansers, face or body scrubs, cosmetics and facial powders.

Recipes: Deep Cleansing Face Mask Combine 1 oz of clay to 3 tbsp of water, add 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin and 2 drops each of geranium and grapefruit pink essential oils to form a paste. Apply to the skin and leave for about 10 minutes and wash off with warm water. Floral water or aloe vera gel juice can be substituted for water.

Mineral Bath A half-cup of powdered French red clay can be added to a tub of warm water to soothe sunburned or irritated skin, or relieve arthritis or muscle pains.
