Plant Description: Cedar Leaf Oil is made from the northern white cedar tree, a small-sized, averaging 12 m (40 ft) high, evergreen. The crown is conical, dense, layered and compact with arching branches. The trunk is strongly tapered, often gnarled with thin red-brown bark. The branchlets are yellowish-green, clad in sheathing foliage, forming flat, fan-shaped sprays.
Color: Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid.

Aromatic Fragrance: Cedar Leaf Thuja Essential Oil has an intensely sharp and fresh with a woody camphor scent.
Aromatic Strength: Strong
Common Applications: American Indians have used leaf tea for headaches and colds, in cough syrups, and in steam baths for rheumatism, arthritis, congestion, and gout; externally, as a wash for swollen feet and burns. Cedar Leaf Thuja Oil is believed to have anti rheumatic, astringent, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, insect repellent, rubefacient, stimulant (nerves, uterus and heart muscles), tonic and vermifuge properties. Cedar Leaf Thuja is composed of active essences synthesized by the secretor cells of aromatic plants through solar energy. This oil is used in pharmaceutical products because of its therapeutic properties, as well as perfume, toiletries, cosmetics, soaps and detergents, because of its aromatic properties.
Typically Used By:
Storage Directions: Essential Oils should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.
Blends Well With: Armoise, Cedarwood, Citrus Oils, Lavender, Pine Needle.
Cautions: Taken in excess, this essential oil can produce unpleasant results; it was officially listed as an abortifacient (a drug or agent causing abortion) and convulsant in overdose. It is considered to be toxic, causing hypo tension (low blood pressure), and convulsions. Fatalities have been reported. Do not use during pregnancy. Do not use without medical supervision

While it does not smell like other cedars it blends very naturally with cedar wood as a light & refreshing top note. Very similar to Arborvitae but less costly!
