Plant Description: The Texan Cedarwood is a small alpine evergreen that grows up to 7 m high. It has stiff green needles and an irregular shaped trunk. While the tree is native to southwestern USA, Mexico and Central America, the main essential oil production is in Texas.
Color: Colorless to pale yellow liquid

Aromatic Fragrance: Cedarwood Texas Essential Oil has a sweet, balsamic wood scent. It is less harsh but similar to Virginian Cedarwood.
Aromatic Strength: Strong
Common Applications: Cedarwood (Texas) Essential Oil, has been used for acne and oily skin, dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, arthritis, circulation problems, sinusitis, bronchitis, congestion and coughs, cystitis, leucorrhea, and water retention. Its chemical constituents have antiseptic, anti-putrescent, anti-seborrhoeic, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory) and tonic properties. It is also said to possess insect repellent properties.
Typically Used By:
Storage Directions: Essential Oils should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.
Blends Well With: Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Cassia, Jasmine, Juniper, Neroli, Labdanum, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang.
Cautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant and non sensitizing. Avoid during pregnancy.

I confess that I have trouble remembering the difference between this oil and the Himalayan version. I use both in my homemade bug repellant. Cedarwood is strong, but not obnoxious unless overdone. I'm happy with it.
This is my favorite cedar oil of all the many cedars that soapgoods has to offer - smells most like what people associate with a cedar chest or closet.
I've used it with melted SheaButter and created a nice ointment for the scalp.
