Plant Description: The Bitter Orange tree is an evergreen that grows up to 30 feet high with glossy dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers. The essential oil is produced by cold pressing of the peel. The Bitter Orange is native to southern China and North-Eastern India. Both the Bitter Orange and edible orange trees bear a great resemblance to each other, but their leaf stalks show a noticeable difference. The Bitter Orange is much broader in the shape of a heart.
Color: Yellowish to orange liquid.

Aromatic Fragrance: Orange Bitter Essential Oil has a very sweet citrus smell characteristic of Sweet Orange, while also carrying some of the bitterness of grapefruit.
Aromatic Strength: Medium
Common Applications: The Bitter Orange is an antiseptic, cordial, antidepressant, antispasmodic, carminative, deodorant, stimulant (nervous), digestive, and tonic (cardiac, circulatory). It can be used as the oil of turpentine is used in chronic bronchitis. It does not irritate the kidneys. It can also be used to fight colds, flatulence, dull skin, constipation, stress and slow digestion.

Storage Directions: Essential Oils should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.
Blends Well With: Lavender, Bergamot, Lemon, Clary Sage, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Nutmeg, Cinnamon Bark and Clove Bud.
Cautions: Bitter Orange Essential Oil is considered photo-toxic and exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Do not use if pregnant.

I like this scent a lot! I am really excited to blend it with other citrus scents in my sugar scrubs.
This is a great appetite suppressant it you are trying to avoid overeating. It is made from the same plant as petitgrain & neroli & blends very naturally with both!
