Plant Description: Salvia officinalis from the Ladiatae family is also known as 'garden', 'true' and 'Dalmatian' sage. Common sage is an evergreen perennial herb that can grow up to about 60cm (2 feet) high with a woody base, soft gray-green oval leaves and a mass of blue or violet flowers.
Color: Pale yellow to greenish yellow liquid.

Aromatic Fragrance: Sage Dalmatian Essential Oil has a spicy, sharp, and very herbaceous scent. It is referred to as having a penetrating and powerful aroma. The Dalmatian sage is considered the superior Sage variety.

Common Applications: The therapeutic properties of Sage Dalmatian Essential Oil are as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, insecticide, laxative and as a tonic
Typically Used By:
Storage Directions: Essential Oils should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Essential Oils should be stored in colored glass, the most common storage method being used today are Boston Round Bottles in the amber tint.
Blends Well With: Bergamot, Lavender, Lemon, Origanum and Rosemary.
Cautions: Sage Dalmatian Essential Oil is a powerful oil in the hands of an experienced aromatherapists and should be used with care. It is an oral toxin and should not be used during pregnancy, or by persons suffering from epilepsy or high blood pressure.

I do not use this oil topically due to it's potentially toxic nature. The best application I have found for this oil is adding to a 'smokeless smude' spray as an alternative to burning sage herb.
